Maintaining your health and well-being while caregiving is a must.
Unfortunately most caregiver learn this the hard way. (I know I did!)
As a caregiver, if your number one focus is to only be concerned that your loved one has everything they need, that they have a good quality of life but you forget to take care of yourself in the process, you are headed down the road to mental and physical crises.
Learning to take care of yourself also allows you to show up and give your best. Taking care of yourself allows you to show up for other people in your life. Taking care of yourself allows you to show up for you!
When you ignore your needs, your body can begin to provide you with warnings which can show up in negative ways -- you can begin to experience negative changes in your body and begin to have negative mental and emotional consequences.
