January can be a funny time of year. It's simultaneously the most depressing month of the year, according to statistics and what you read in the press, but it's the one month every year in which millions of us vow to start transforming our lives. Ironically, the most hopeful and ambitious month of the year is also the same month we see what's often billed as the saddest day of the year, Blue Monday. Every year, millions of people set New Year's resolutions and many give them up before that month is even out.

So how can you capitalise on the opportunities and possibilities that January holds? If your New Year's resolution this year is to land a new role or work on your career development or feel happier at work, this two-part episode is for you.
