This week we welcome Paul "PJ" Widener, Founder and Executive Director of the Stronghold Freedom Foundation. The foundation's mission is to serve those who were exposed to toxic conditions while deployed in service of our country. The foundation was born out of a promise PJ made to a friend over 9 years ago, to care for his fellow service members that had deployed to K2/Camp Stronghold Freedom, Uzbekistan. PJ and the foundation are actively pursuing legislation that would make it easier for K2 veterans to obtain healthcare and proper medical screening. As a K2 veteran myself, I also discuss some of my own medical issues and how I found the Stronghold Freedom Foundation. This interview will shine a light on the importance to get involved, and push our elected officials to help the over 10,000 veterans that spent time in Uzbekistan between 2001 and 2005.
