This is episode 1092 of the Arete Coach Podcast with Severin Sorensen and his guest Chip Webster is a long-term Vistage Chair, Co-Founder of TEC/Vistage Keepers of the Flame, Mentor, Strategic Consultant, Business Owner, and Author. When not traveling across the US in his luxury RV, Chip lives and works in Tampa, Florida.
Chip was an early leader in the peer-to-peer learning space with over 3 decades of experience providing high-level mentoring, strategic support, and executive guidance to over 100 companies. He is the former President of Consolidated Directories, an early phone book company. As a Vistage Chair he led four chief and key executive peer groups. In 1999, he was awarded the Don Cope Award, and was later promoted to President of Vistage Florida, where he oversaw 45 Vistage Chairs and 75 Vistage groups. He is a co-founder of TEC (Vistage) Keepers of the Flame.
This interview contains a rich conversation that spanned many topics, from a poem Chip wrote called 'Act Now' inspired by the inspirational prodding of poet David Whyte, to Chair/Coach musings about ' the 'power of peer groups,' to exploring powerful questions, to sharing thoughts from his new book (in writing) about civic duty and safeguarding democracy. We close by exploring Chip's mission: 'making a difference in the people's lives and helping them realize their dreams for we are here to be angels to each other.'
