- Make opportunities out of what you are currently assigned by bringing fresh thinking to even mundane or perfunctory tasks

- Keep learning new things and sharing new ideas. Every opportunity to learn is also one to teach.
- Find passive mentors by watching how the best do it—and then outdoing them.
