A deep dive with an incredible woman, who has dedicated her life to helping others. Working as a nurse on the oncology ward as well as a specialist Macmillan nurse. We talk about the superpowers of her intuitive knowledge about her patient's wellbeing, her ability to really look after herself, and know when massive self-care is needed. How here friendships and family have taught her so much about the grief and also enlightenment that comes with understanding so late in life that she has suspected ADHD.
We talk about how ADHD can be a real asset as a medical professional, there are many doctors and consultants, and nurses whose brain chemistry is perfect for crisis situations and for the variety and people skills that help them excel in their field and we explore how getting someone whos zone of genuis is administarion to support people would be incredibly liberating.
We discuss managing young children and the shame of not having an immaculate house and how all these years later the feelings are so readily felt, and why ADHD brings with it a certain humility that should mean that the people that have it can be perfect leaders for the world.
