It’s A Tale of Two Hygienists’ monthly student roundtable episode, which means Andrew and Michelle have invited a roster of guests to educate student listeners on a chosen topic. To kick off August, Michelle speaks with a trio of professionals on the subject of joining and building a team.

Ryan Coulon, DDS, is a dentist based in Midland, TX who has been practicing for seven years. He owns and manages three different practices and is the co-founder of Inspero, a coaching and consulting group for dentists. Mary Osborne has worked in dentistry over 50 years! She spent the first half of her career as a dental hygienist and patient facilitator, and since then has consulted dental practices on patient care and communication. Anna Jo Blakesley is a dental hygienist who has been working in Orange County practice for the past five years.

In this episode, the guests address what to ask or say when interviewing for a hygienist position, discuss how you confront a practice’s lack of safety culture, and give a few pointers for building up confidence to ask the tough questions.
