The Podcast For Veterinarians, Equine, and Beyond: Welcome to a new and unique episode with podcast hosts John Ryan and Ryan Murphy, co-founders of a new podcast called Valeo Mentis. John Ryan, is a Senior Equine Specialist impacting large animal veterinarian needs with 19+ years of experience. Ryan Murphy brings us a background in finance and veterinary sales as well. They discuss their podcast's focus on the equine veterinary industry. They aim to address challenges such as mental health, work-life balance, and the attrition rate among our valued veterinarian doctors. Scott shares his experience in podcasting, emphasizing the importance of high-quality content and audience engagement. They also discuss potential monetization strategies and the value of building a loyal email list. The discussion centers on monetizing a podcast ethically, with suggestions including implementing a paywall, using affiliate links, and maintaining a supportive community. Scott shared experiences of accidentally gaining clients organically through this show and emphasized the importance of clear disclosure for affiliate links. They all highlighted the need for community building and shared insights on using AI for editing. They also hit on the importance of aligning monetization strategies with a podcast show's mission. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Understanding the big challenges and tenure impacts, attrition rates, in the veterinary industry. Setting boundaries, prioritizing personal time, feeling less alone, for the big picture of "work/personal life balance". Setting goals and future plans in podcasting for Valeo Mentis and beyond. Who & What is Valeo Mentis? Valeo Mentis is a podcast dedicated to connecting people within the veterinary community through meaningful stories, insights, and resources. The title itself, Valeo Mentis, is derived from Latin, where "Valeo" means "to be strong" or "to thrive," and "Mentis" refers to the "mind" or "spirit." Put together, it translates roughly to "thriving minds" or "strengthening the mind." The podcast’s goal is to nurture the mental and emotional well-being of veterinarians, veterinary professionals, and anyone involved in the animal care world. By sharing real stories, practical advice, and personal journeys, Valeo Mentis aims to create a supportive, connected community that helps people grow both personally and professionally. It’s about encouraging collaboration, sharing wisdom, and fostering a space where listeners can find inspiration, comfort, and valuable knowledge—ultimately thriving in the challenging but rewarding world of veterinary medicine. Today’s Guest Co-Host Links: https://www.valeomentis.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/company/valeo-mentis https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-ryan-28b99129/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryan-murphy-7837a5162/ Your Co-Hosts Deeper Dive: Ryan Murphy: Murph works in veterinary sales in the Northeast US. He grew up in Pennsylvania on a horse breeding farm and his father is a thoroughbred racetrack vet. He has the perspective of the child of someone who’s dedicated their life to taking care of horses and understands the lifestyle. He currently resides in Connecticut with his wife, two children, three horses, golden retriever and cat. John Ryan: John has worked in veterinary sales since 2003. He grew up riding horses and acquired his animal health science degree from Penn State University. He’s been serving the industry for a long time and has a broad perspective. He currently resides in Montana with his wife, daughter and dog. Mentioned Influencers: Dr. Kristen Fenstermacher VMD of All Points Equine https://allpointsequine.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristen-fenstermacher-1810bb1b/ Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/e_lMnZgwjTo Timestamped Show Notes: 22:00 – I always remind people, guess where most people start their podcasts, is it in the garage, in their bedroom? No it's the closet, it's about finding that smaller room, less chance of an echo, less noise reverberation off of the walls. If you have clothing hang in there, you push it to the sides, again, extra sound matting, and especially if you don't have an upgraded microphone yet. 28:15 –We talk to equine veterinarians all day long and we wear a lot of different hats in the roles that we have, and half the time, I feel like we're almost a little bit like therapists. People just want to talk, and they want to talk through their issues. So we spend a lot of time just listening to people kind of talk about what's going on and what the challenges are. There's a really unfortunate phenomenon in our large animal industry, people come into it straight out of school, and they wind up leaving in a few years and going to a small animal or doing something completely different. So there's this attrition rate on an already anemic level, the supply of veterinarians is hurting. There has always been mental health issues going on as well. Citizens do not realize how challenging the long hours are, late nights in the dark, etc. 33:00 – So there's so many ways to access this wealth of knowledge or entertainment. If you're somebody who's spending all day in a car, no matter what you're doing, whether you're a veterinarian or a salesperson, and you're not using that time to better yourself, either personally or professionally, you are missing a great opportunity to grow. 45:20 – There are "consultants" out there being recommended in some of the veterinary world, supposedly helping all of these veterinarians. Claiming they know how to grow their business and grow their sales. You have to do your due diligence, especially as doctors trying to understand entrepreneurship to grow and maintain a business while loving the clients' animals. 50:00 – I actually had one veterinarian in Idaho who who did that after we had that profitability conversation. He took me out to breakfast, he bought breakfast for me, and he said, I just wanted to thank you. He said, I did what you said. I didn't do it as extreme as you suggested, but I started making that move. I'm doing incrementally over time. He's like, I am making more money. I'm working less hours, and the customers that I do have, that I've kept, are so much happier with me. 01:17:40 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: Ryan Murphy's Final Words: I think listening to people's stories is quite impactful, especially when you can relate to those stories, even people outside of the industry. Like John said before, it's about community . So not feeling alone. That's a big thing in the industry, and so I think that's where I want them to end up, and I want them to hopefully build a community through our podcast. Valeo means to thrive , so it means mental health , but it means smeone who's thriving in mental health. In one other word, significance , significance to the people that you love, or just significance in affecting change in the world. So I think if you boil life down, the purpose for us all, is significance. John Ryan's Final Words: It's the fact that you're not alone , and you don't have to be alone in all of this. You might be struggling, but we ant you to know that you're not alone. So it's the root word for us, it's about Valor , so trength , and Mentis is about the Mind . Today’s Guest Co-Host Links: https://www.liquivida.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/samtejada/ https://podcast.samtejada.com/ https://www.instagram.com/sammy_tejada/ Mentioned Influencers: Dr. Anthony Jay, https://www.ajconsultingcompany.com/ Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ilSNzVNvRP8 Timestamped Show Notes: 14:00 - My definition of success is being able to make change in our world. How do you do that? You gotta put yourself in a position of power. What's a position of power? Yes, I'm a CEO of a company that right now has multiple locations, we are nationwide, it's fantastic. That's still not going to give me my definition of success. Ultimately, my goal is to be able to sit in a seat, in a legislative role, a political role, to be able to make some of these changes that have caused so many hiccups and a lot of difficulty for me to grow my own business. 29:35 – The topic on GLP-1, it's a peptide. So it does have a tremendous amount of benefits, and the clinical research behind it is actually showing some positive data, even for myocardial health. 46:00 – My goal is to change the course of medicine, with my medical team, and all of my partners that I have. We got sick and tired of the traditional medicine. So changing the course of medicine, and you know, there's certain ways that we're doing it, obviously, as a franchise, or we're bringing this to the masses. 54:55 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: My goal here is to let people understand what's most valuable. You always hear people talk about the dollar, the yen, the crypto, you know. Truthfully, the most valuable currency on earth is your health. So that's what leads me to tell you, "Health Is Wealth"! They also discuss the potential for organizing future events to support charitable causes, emphasizing the importance of community and personal growth. The conversation revolves around the importance of setting and achieving goals, emphasizing the significance of writing them down for better retention and motivation. Quote: "The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection." ~ Thomas Paine Your host, Scott Mulvaney brings together likeminded “Men of Mindset” for an evening of grilling steaks, male bonding, and this special podcast recording night out in his pole barn aka the man-zone aka the Fuel Up Barn. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Write down goals and reasons for each, advocating for a physical pen-and-paper approach over digital methods. Journaling and the benefits of helping others, which in turn benefits oneself. The value of spending time with family, particularly children, and the long-term impact of such actions. Your Co-Hosts: BRIAN STRAUSER: Husband, Proud Father, and Entrepreneur. Owner of Strauser Home Improvements here in Bethlehem, PA USA. At SHI, we not only strive to grow personally, as well as professionally, we also devote a lot of time in helping others do the same. Rob Eschbach: Husband, Super Dad, High Performance Trainer, Enlifted L2 Coach, and Entrepreneur. Gym Owner of F13 Performance in Allentown, PA. CHRIS SEIDEL: Husband, Father, and Entrepreneur. Owner of Poseidon Seafood Company and Todd's Island Seafood in Allentown, PA. Today’s Guest Co-Host Links: https://strauserhomeimprovements.com/ https://f13performance.com/ https://www.yelp.com/biz/todds-island-seafood-allentown Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ovXh3-2tfns Final Words Timetamped: 01:04:30 - Rob's Final Words: I said it before on your show, and it's a rule I follow as well to help you stick to your goals or resolutions or whatever you want to title them for 2025 write them down, title it and then if you're done writing it down, take the time to write a paragraph afterwards. Whatever the goal is, whatever you guys use, write it down, and then do something no one does after they write it down. If you wrote it down, you're already 90% above everybody else. Take that last 10% and read it out loud. Then if you find yourself falling off or not sure why, just pull it back out. Don't forget about it. The more you write, the more you can focus. People don't write things out anymore. I'm not talking about typing it. Don't type it and no, don't put in your phone. Get a pen and a paper and write it down like you learned in elementary school. 01:06:20 – Final Words from Brian: I just bought a really good new journal. I'm a big journal guy and value writing things down. I was talking to my wife the other day because I got some lofty goals again for '25, trying to get my life in check, as I always am doing. I need to come up with a journal that really encompasses. I don't want a weight loss journal. I don't want a diet journal. I don't want a weightlifting journal. I don't want a Business Journal. I want a journal that's a lifestyle journal that really has bits and pieces. I'm not trying to lose weight. I'm not trying to build the mega business. I'm trying to do all of it. I want to create the total package and and I started doing some Googling and dicking around on Amazon and stuff, and found, I don't remember the name of the damn company, but I found a very good journal that kind of does that for me. So I've already been sitting there writing down doing exactly what you're talking about those things. Yeah, I got it. It's all down. 01:10:20 – Final Words from Chris: All words are wise. Something that really resonated with me tonight was Brian mentioned it earlier. You know, driving your kids to school, spending that 15 minutes with them, that's something that, I'll be honest, it fucking annoys the shit out of me. Driving the kids to school sometimes, because it's, I have enough going on and driving the kids to school, there's five of them. It's two different trips back and forth. But, you know, I kind of take that for granted, and those are times where you're right, I'm never gonna fucking get them back. Mark shares insights from research showing significant increases in positivity after using the app's exercises. The conversation also touches on the challenges of managing anxiety and the benefits of setting aside time for personal well-being. Top 3 Takeaways: Dream Journaling Three Good Things aka Take The Good Out of The Day Growth Through Challenges and Risks. Your Co-Host Today: MARC S. FUSSELL is the visionary founder behind the non-profit Take 2 Minutes, a revolutionary platform designed to enhance mental wellness through positive psychology and technology. With over 25 years of experience in IT, Marc’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for improving mental health have led to creating a suite of tools that leverage daily positive messages, gratitude journaling, meditations, breathing exercises, a grounding exercise, a gratitude challenge, sleep audio, dream journaling, and more to foster happiness and well- being. As a dedicated father, his journey into positive psychology was inspired by a personal commitment to support his son’s mental health, evolving into a mission to spread positivity to a broader audience. Today’s Guest Co-Host Links: https://www.take2minutes.org/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/marcfussell/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/take2min/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/take2min/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@take2min Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ADsba_QYCqM Timestamped Show Notes: 11:00 – It's not about trying to create false positivity or be in a positive state all the time. Life is going to throw things at you. You're going to have ups and down flows. You're not always going to be in a good mood. I am not always in a good mood. I have stresses. We all, we all have stresses, right? 36:00 – If you don't want positive messages, just text back pause positive messages, and it's going to turn those off for you. Then you can focus on your gratitude journaling, your three good things, your dream journaling, or other meditations. You know, we have all kinds of activities now. You can turn on daily meditations, gratitude reminders, and/or three good things. You may be getting four texts a day at least, maybe even five sometimes, so you should adapt it to you. 46:30 – Before they started at all, they took a modified differential emotion scale questionnaire, MDS questionnaire, and that questionnaire is 20 questions. It's available for anyone to use on take two minutes, but ideally, it ranks your positivity against your negativity. So it gives you a score of how positive or how negative you are. 01:00:45 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: That quality time by yourself is doing something. It can be yoga. It can be meditating. Obviously, Take 2 Minutes is a lot of meditations. But definitely spend some quality time on self improvement every day. Yes, it's tough. I know, I have Take 2 Minutes. I'm the CIO of a company. I have another company I just started. So I have a lot going on. There are days where I feel like I wake up at 5am and I really want to start working right off the bat, but I know that's not the healthy thing to do. The healthy to do is to spend a good 30 minutes on myself, whether it be journaling, yoga, meditating, exercising, or something positive. I gotta spend some me time, otherwise the whole day is not going to be as productive as it could be. So I think that's what I would like to share with everyone, is find a way to spend time improving yourself. That is a very generic term, because improving yourself is different for each person and the time of day you do it can be different for each person too. Maybe it works better for you after work, maybe it works better for you before bed, but definitely take time out for yourself every day to improve who you are and get yourself into a better mindset. In 2021, he was honored with the prestigious Inc 5000 Award and propelled the company to an impressive #377 ranking on the coveted Inc 5000 list. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Mold Issues and Home Remediation Role of HVAC Systems in Mold Prevention Health Symptons and Indoor Air Quality Impacts Today’s Guest Co-Host Links: https://moldebook.com/ https://moldsolutions.com/ Facebook - @moldsolutionsusa Instagram - @mold.solutions Youtube - @mold.solutions - Mold Solutions Mentioned Influencers: https://ultravation.com/ Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/tlDeRlSft3I Timestamped Show Notes: 08:25 – There's a distribution center for multiple spores and the little known aspect of mold, which is mycotoxins. Myco being the Greek word for fungus and toxins, obviously a poisonous substance. So when you're dealing with the health end of it, that's if you go to a doctor that specializes in mold toxicity, they're looking at how can they pull the mycotoxins out of your body, through binders and things along those lines. But interesting enough, most of the guys in this space don't even look for mycotoxins. They might do an air sample, but that's just testing for spores. The thing that's actually the most poisonous for humans is what mold releases to defend its territory, which is a mycotoxin. 17:30 – Mold loves glue and it loves wood. So you're gonna have a moldy mess throughout the entire house, which we've definitely seen that too. The the most important thing on preventing mold is making sure that your home is as dry and clean as possible. Sometimes you have to think preventative. 28:00 – How about not knowing where your whole house filter is? In this scenario, it had been a year and a half since she had changed the filter. So it was completely bio-nesting? It was full of mold, full of all kinds of growth, and both of her HVAC units were completely contaminated. It knocked her out for four months in regards to her health. She had returned from working on disaster relief activities in Turkey and got hit with some sort of a toxic kind of blast while she was there. They were burning off all kinds of toxic stuff over there. So she comes home, she's not feeling well, she's in her bed, and that's where it hit here like a chain reaction. It just got worse and worse and worse. 55:00 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: I'm gonna tell you this, because you're about to go through it. Make sure when you open up your walls, I don't like to call it demolition, I like to call it precision deconstruction. You must really be precise. You don't want to attack mold or aggravate it, if you do that, it's like kicking a hornet's nest. So you want to make sure that you do it as nicely as possible. But before you do it, you have containment, and ideally, you would have engineered a control. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: Challenges in the CBD Industry Inesa's Personal Struggles and Motivation Our Broken Medical Care System Today’s Guest Co-Host Links: nesashemp.com Facebook @nesashemp Instagram @nesashemp Personal Instagram @inesa_ponomariovaite YouTube - @NesasHemp regenesis369.com Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/95BKIfZYZzo Timestamped Show Notes: 08:40 – I was working on my mother's treatment to find a cure for my mom's cancer, that was years ago. I got so excited when I was able to help my mom and she's living happy, healthy life up to today. So I was so excited because I started helping all these other people across the world to share my knowledge and help these people get better. There is no such thing as you're gonna take one magical pill, even in chemo world. Your body is too complex of a mechanism. 19:00 - I did not know how to keep myself healthy. I was miserable with my health. I was a victim from pharmaceuticals. I was I was miserable from every angle and I could choose to be a victim in my life, or choose to win. I said, hell no, I'm not going to be a victim. I'm not going to be someone out there crying and whining. Long story short, I went through quite a few hard times and then I really got my life accomplished the way I wanted to. 46:50 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: That one thing that has actually mattered to me was to create a legacy with this company. I don't even hire the employees on the team that are not interested to leaving the legacy themselves. So everyone is chose very carefully to work with Nesas Hemp or Regenesis 369 I know I'm not going to I'm going to try. I know it's going to happen for fact, and the plans and the things I'm working on right now is going to create the revolution, and I'm not gonna continue to watch all the darkness, trying to accept how and push us and accept the darkness as okay. And I had enough of this, and I just know that I'm here, and we're gonna push really hard and we're gonna make it happen, because pushing hard looks great, but I know we're going to make it happen. I have an amazing plan. It's already working in the first phases. So with that being said, I just want to see hate turning into the love and dark turning into the light, and I want people simply to be happy and healthy. I also want all the CBD industry to crash to be honest with you, because those are pharmaceutical drugs are sold on the market. Nobody knows people are taking drugs, and they think it's coming from the plant. There is no CBD in the plant. Nobody knows about it. Just like you might CBD. No, you know, darling, you are taking actually a drug. And even smart Google tells you that. So I'm definitely create creating revolution in the industry, because it's been four or five years, every time I've been interviewed by mainstream media or articles and things like that, which is, by now probably have 1000s. I can tell you this, that's I can push sales, I can push marketing. I can push all that stuff. The only one thing I push is education that doesn't bring me money. So I bring, I bring the education. Because when we create when you're smart, when nobody can ever trick you, when you know how to make your money, when you know how to be healthy, when you know God, so But nobody's going to manipulate you, that's the moment where I feel I achieved my goal, and that's exactly where I'm going. So with my product, I know we're gonna change the industry, and we're gonna stop all these lies that hemp and cannabis and it's all the same thing, and CBD, no, no, no, people need to know the truth. So that's gonna happen. And with all these funds we actually making from Nesas Hemp, as I said, I'm creating something very big, and it's happening. I personally chose not to sell my soul three times two for sure. The third one I was assuming. I was offered ridiculous amount of dollars, and I was told I'm an idiot by not taking it, but I was offered everything I had the whole life written in front of me how perfect life could be, and doors are open everywhere. And I said, No. I said, Absolutely no. So yeah, it's absolutely that's, that's the legacy. We're going to turn hate into love and dark into the into the light. I was like, yeah, it's a slow week. I was like, we take vacations, so why not?! We had a couple of beautiful vacations this year. We did Greece, we did Costa Rica. I was like, I need to go help people. It'll make me feel better. 40:00 – I went 20 minutes up into the mountains above Lake Lure, there is an HVAC contractor up there, Ridgeline Heating and Cooling. All of the local citizens just started working with him, and he turned his entire business into a giant Donation Center. So I drove up there, and it was so inspiring. I mean they have you just pull up to the front of the business and that's where local fellow citizens pull in, and it's like going shopping. Then down the side street of the business, that's where I pulled up out back, and that's where you can drop off donations like my sawyer supplies I was providing. 49:30 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: I mean, doesn't matter who people are. Initial Observations of the Aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Nonprofits and local citizens impacts on the Carolina's. FEMA incorrectly spending their budget and more. Today's conversation centers on the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Scott starts off on a positive note with the new Boots Refuel Fund launch with his charity, Fuel Foundations. He has started providing new wildfire boots and rebuild cost coverage for our wildland firefighters. They discuss the inadequate federal response and praise nonprofit organizations like Samaritan's Purse and Aerial Recovery for their swift actions over the last couple of weeks. Scott notes that he plans to personally assist in North Carolina, emphasizing the importance of local and community efforts. They also discuss the need for transparency and efficiency in charitable donations, advocating for direct impact over administrative costs. The discussion concludes with a call to action for citizens to support and volunteer with local and nonprofit organizations in their own regions. Quote: Every person has a longing to be significant; to make a contribution; to be a part of something noble and purposeful. ~ John C. Maxwell Your Co-Host Today: Charles Max Wood is a coach and podcast host at Top End Devs. He’s building a system to help developers advance their careers by building their skills, personal brands, and networks. Chuck is also the author of “The MaxCoders Guide to Finding Your Dream Developer Job.” The podcasts he produces reach more than 80,000 developers every week. Today’s Top 3 Takeaways: The positive outlooks created from nonprofit efforts. FEMA failures and slow action by government response. The power of small nonprofit organizations and private citizen efforts. Today’s Guest Co-Host Links: Chuck’s Website: https://topenddevs.com/ Chuck’s Book: The MaxCoders Guide To Finding Your Dream Developer Job – https://amzn.to/2Jrh5A8 Watch us on YouTube: https://youtu.be/B1ABBfawSto Timestamped Show Notes: 20:10 – We've got hotels for Haitians and and when we've got an open border again, no matter your political position. Okay, so all of this FEMA funding has been to support people that are not actually citizens of this country. Last time I checked, FEMA was paid for by me, a citizen. I want my tax dollars benefiting my fellow citizens who are struggling first. 31:30 – Why are we even talking about $750 a citizen right now? Granted, I'm not a FEMA trained person, but all you did was light a fire in people, because they heard how small the dollar amount was. You need to take every dollar you got and send convoys of supplies, generators, etc. to help get people back to a healthy state of life. It's not even a level playing field right now. 48:30 – A lot of people are like, well, my work or my life doesn't fulfill me. Well, then go earn the money so that you can go do the things to fulfill you. If people are always trying to find purpose, our work will never be done. People always trying to find purpose. I like having purpose in my work, and I really enjoy what I do. 01:01:55 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: It's a shame these natural disasters are always going to happen. It's a shame that this one is the worst in recorded history. I think it's a blessing too, because we get the opportunity to take care of each other. I mean, as much as I don't want bad things to happen to people, the next best thing is that we showed up. Positive Psychology, Sacred Medicine, Psilocybin Benefits, MDMA Relegalization, Spiritual Integration, and much more on this Health Podcast with Matt Zemon: The conversation delves into the polarized topic of psychedelics, focusing on their potential benefits and legal accessibility in the U.S. Matt Zemon, a psychologist with a background in neuroscience, discusses the legal options for psychedelics, including ketamine, MDMA, and psilocybin, and their therapeutic applications for conditions like depression and PTSD. He emphasizes the importance of proper guidance and preparation for psychedelic experiences. The discussion also touches on the role of spiritual and religious practices in integrating psychedelics, the potential for psychedelics to enhance relationships, and the need for education and responsible use. Zemon advocates for a balanced approach that respects both the spiritual and scientific aspects of psychedelics. Quote: “I am convinced that psychedelics are not a panacea, but they can play a role in healing and connection, both for the people that choose to use them and for those that do not.” ― Matt Zemon Your Co-Host Today: Matt Zemon, MSc, is a dedicated explorer of the inner world, and a passionate advocate for the thoughtful and responsible use of psychedelics. With a Master of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health with honors from King’s College London, Matt has studied the effects of psychedelics on the mind and the potential for these experiences to serve as a catalyst for positive transformations. His work in this field is motivated by a profound desire to help people navigate the sometimes challenging terrain of the psychedelic experience, and emerge from it with a deeper sense of purpose, connection, and understanding. To reclaim their true self. He's asking for some more guardrails before he signed something. So who knows what happens next year in California? A ton of different cities have done the second way people access psychedelics in America, which is decriminalizing them. So decriminalize means it's not legal, but it's been the law enforcement guideline in that area which has been told this is the lowest priority. We don't spend any resources pursuing people who have small amounts of psychedelics. There are multiple cities in California, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Detroit, Michigan, Washington, DC, a bunch up in Maine, there's a number of cities that have decriminalized psychedelics. 33:00 – Halfway... So back in the old days, there was just healer, and the healer was both a medicine doctor and a spiritual healer. As Western society developed, we said, oh no, we're gonna gonna separate these roles and and doctors will be pure science and healers will be pure spiritual. Well, psychedelics plays in both realms. Psychedelics are learning to die before you die in many respects. 44:20 – It's amazing, even Governor Perry from Texas became an advocate for psychedelics. There are over 309 academic institutions studying psychedelics now. 55:55 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: I think what I would leave behind for today is saying, look, while I talk about psychedelics for everyone, I don't mean everyone should take a psychedelic. Please get educated and whether it's for you, or for someone you love, or whether it just changes the way you talk at the water cooler or vote at the ballot box, these are powerful medicines that are going to change our world for good, and getting up to date and educated on them is important. Today’s Guest Co-Host Links: https://www.clarigenz.com/ https://www.instagram.com/clarigenz/ https://www.facebook.com/clarigenz Influencer Mentioned: https://jackkruse.com/ Timestamped Show Notes: 25:00 – The foundation of IZOD is in the definition, it stands for "In The Zone On Demand". Because most of us have experienced being in the zone, but for most of us, it was by chance. 28:00 – When you're in control, there is no stress, there is no worry, there is no fear, that just all goes away. So purpose and then taking control, having a plan, surrounding yourself with the right people, getting out of their comfort zone, those types of things. Then biohacking, upgrading that body, that mind, and that's how we get into the zone. Ultimately, what I do with my clients is we create that scripted life. It becomes a set of power routines, like I have a morning power routine, evening power routine, a dream routine, and a health routine or a biohacking routine. 41:30 – If you do purposing, get control over your agenda/calendar, that just all dissipates. It is about control and clarity. 53:50 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: My superpower is that I really am helping people unleash their superpower, and I know how to do that, because, again, all of people are not awake, right? They're just living a life, but not their life. So we need to wake them up. We need to see what their passion is and unleash your superpowers, not just step into it, because the world, quite frankly, needs all of our superpowers right now. It's for people to really start using their common sense. We've been told so many things. There's so much propaganda out there, but just step back and go deep inside of yourself and learn some basics. We didn't talk about those because there's so many things we can talk about, but there's so many fundamentals that don't cost any money to upgrade that body and that mind of yours. It's usually only when we dare to get out of that comfort zone that that's where we find purpose out of our comfort zone, that's where we grow, that's where we can become extraordinary and unleash your superpowers. So take that moment, look in the mirror, and ask yourself if you're living their passion. When you get up in the morning and ask yourself honestly if you're living that purpose. If not, please do something about it. It's never too late. If you don't know how to, just seek out some help and some guidance, and we'll push you in the right direction. And he had this concept of you're familiar with called the misogi. And it's this idea, it's this Japanese term that relates, that references sort of cleansing, and it's evolved to mean sort of doing something very hard, where you come out the other side cleansed as a new person. And so this Misogi, there's two rules of the misogyny. The first rule is, there has to be a 50% chance of success, and the second rule is, don't die. 58:30 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: My legacy is about people by people who I impact. It's about my kids. It's about my wife. It's about my my siblings. It's about my community. It's about f3 nation. It's about serving people. And you know, there, there are few, few roles in life better than a teacher or a coach in terms of leaving a legacy. That's why I love what I get to do, I get to impact people. So my legacy is about people. It's about pouring into people. It's about loving people. Chuck Returns To Discuss A Theme On Doing The Right Thing, Taking Initiative, and Community Support: Chuck Wood returns for a monthly check-in so we can hit on a variety of topics. On this episode we discuss some family drama, personal accountability, and even minor points around political issues. Chuck shares his experiences with family members in trouble and the importance of personal responsibility which Scott agrees on for success in life. They discuss the challenges of parenting and the role of teachers versus parents in children's lives. The conversation also touches on political activism, with Chuck planning to address school policies at a local school board meeting. They emphasize the need for parents to take action and not rely on others to solve problems. Towards the end we even hit on the simple kindness act of clearing a road to help stranded drivers. An important highlight around the importance of taking initiative and community support. There was an article published in the National Review, and it pointed out that two school districts here in Utah had adopted policies from the ACLU that said that teachers should not inform parents if a child decides to transition their sex. This issue is going viral right now and everybody's talking, but teachers are not the parents. I'm the parent. I created that human or adopted that human being, and have full responsibility for that human being. 43:15 – This all comes back to just one or two general principles, and simplified, it's just responsibility. I mean, my brother's in jail because he didn't show up to a court hearing, and he wants us to bail us out?! 01:02:00 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: Just take responsibility for where you want to end up, and recognize that you have that same responsibility for your kids. What is that focus, right? I've got my health figured out. You know, I'm healthy, I'm happy. So now I can pour into somebody else's cup, if that makes sense... 55:00 – Final Words Our Final Words of the Show: I think what triggered a lot of this was just that I realized that I was stressed out and unhappy. So if you're stressed out and unhappy, there's a reason why, right? I'm not painting this as you need to pivot your life. But maybe there's some minor change, and you keep doing what you're doing in a different way. The thing is, when I was working full time jobs, by the time I was considering whether or not it was worth jumping ship or trying to fix whatever was wrong, wherever I was, I've learned that it was just time to jump ship. The thing is, is just sit down and yeah, figure out, okay, well, what is it that I really want? You know, one of the things when you hear a lot of this stuff, and when I'm thinking about you guys in this room, and the people I care to spend my time around, is we're not willing to fail. We're like the type of people that it doesn't matter what is thrown at me. I don't care what the job is that I come in front of. I don't care what the situation is. I'll figure it out. It's just my job. That's what I do, and I pride myself on it, and I think that's something that we're losing in some of these younger kids these days. I'm a huge kid advocate, love the youth, and and putting my time and investment into them. ~ Brian Strauser Your Positive Action Forward: · Don’t forget to Submit a 5-Star Review · Get my book "So You Want To Be A Hotshot" - HotshotBook.com · Visit FuelFoundations.org our 501c-3 non-profit! · Visit FuelUpMarketing.com for Sales & Marketing, Strategy & Execution.…
