Who Was Ray Kroc?
Manage episode 371290125 series 3405980
Ray Kroc was an American businessman who purchased the fast food company McDonald's in 1961 from the McDonald brothers and was its CEO from 1967 to 1973. Kroc is credited with the global expansion of McDonald's, turning it into the most successful fast food corporation in the world by revenue.
In this episode, Alex and Kelly explore Kroc and McDonald's, from the early days of standardization, to the menu, to the focus on marketing to kids, to how McDonald's stacks up in today's world. If you've ever stopped at the "Golden Arches", you probably wondered how McDonald's became synonymous with American fast food. In this "super sized" episode, we explore McDonald's and it's enigmatic founder, Raymond Albert Kroc.
