The head rules the belly through the chest
Manage episode 507298682 series 3540370
For our Poetry Aloud podcast this week, I’ve chosen to read to you the first chapter of C. S. Lewis’s The Abolition of Man. C. S. Lewis rewards attention for every sentence he writes, so that whether you listen to the whole of this chapter or only have time to the first few minutes, you will be well repaid. What Lewis says in this single chapter about reason and right sentiments is as urgent now as it was in his time -- probably more urgent now. But it is also a good stiff breeze of fresh and bracing air!
