Alright folks, let's dive into the local weather forecast for Washington DC!
Today in Washington DC, we're looking at showers and thunderstorms likely, especially after 4pm. Some of these storms might get a bit serious, with temperatures reaching a high near 98°F. It's getting hot out there, with heat index values as high as 105°F. The wind will be light from the southwest, increasing to 5 to 10 miles per hour. There's a 60% chance of precipitation, so keep that umbrella handy. Expect new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch.
Moving on to tonight, we can still expect some showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11pm. Temperatures will drop to around 74°F, with a west wind of 3 to 8 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation increases to 80%, with similar rainfall amounts as the day.
Looking ahead to Thursday, we might see some isolated showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. It will be partly sunny with a high near 90°F and a north wind of 5 to 7 miles per hour. The chance of rain drops to 20%.
As we head into the weekend, the weather looks slightly more stable with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs around 89-92°F.
