Excerpt: [on] Freedoms being stripped away I think people need to ask more questions, being a little bit more engaged. You cannot function and live in a free society with these types of restrictions and creating this two-tiered society. I think we are again at this crossroads and if we are not going to look at the big picture and start having meaningful conversations to start breaking everything down to determine what’s what, we are going to end up in a very dark place very soon. - Sensai Laszlo Antal
Laszlo started his Martial arts Journey in the mid-1980s in his home country of Hungary. At that time it was still under the semi-communist rule as the USSR still had sway over the area. When he was 18 he moved to Canada in a classic Immigrant story with no money, little education, and only a desire to live a better life. He eventually found the local Kyokushin community and started the hard Journey to Black Belt and later an instructor. He has built a life, and a family here but is concerned about the fact that western politics is looking a lot like the authoritarian regime he left behind. In this episode we talk about Martial Arts, Family and the importance of the Family Unit, Religion in the modern world, History, Critical Thinking, Freedom of thought and speech and so much more. This episode is long but deep and totally worth the listen.
