On Tuesday 7th March, Alexia Khadime and Lucy St Louis made WICKED history as the first two black performers to play Elphaba and Glinda opposite each other in the long-running musical.
Summing up the night in a five-minute slot within The West End Frame Show would be impossible, so in this emergency episode, journalist Lisa Martland joins Andrew to delve into Alexia and Lucy's magnificent performances and discuss why this was such a momentous moment for theatre.
Having spent many years at The Stage – including five years as Deputy Editor – Lisa is the Founding Editor of one of the UK’s top theatre websites, Musical Theatre Review which is currently celebrating its tenth anniversary.
