Great characters in film and TV, and the brilliant actors who portray them, are often remembered as much for their spectacular looks as they are their masterful performances. Creating many of those looks for shows like Orphan Black, Shadowhunters, The Expanse, Hemlock Grove, Cardinal and the hit Netflix thriller Locke and Key is veteran hairstylist Stefanie Terzo, our guest on this week’s Viewfinder Podcast.
I’m honored to have Stefanie on the show to talk about her amazing journey in the world of hair design for film and TV. In our conversation, we also discuss the most challenging aspects of her work, the many designs she’s created for stars like Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany, Cardinal’s Karine Vanasse, and Locke and Key co-stars Emilia Jones (who plays Kinsey Locke), Connor Jessup (who portrays her brother, Tyler) and Darby Stanchfield (who plays their mother, Nina, in the series).
Stefanie also gives us her advice for new and aspiring entrants to this side of the Hollywood production industry, and how she’s safely and successfully kept working in the midst of an ongoing global pandemic that continues to affect major movie and TV productions worldwide.
