Matthew explains what blockchain domains are and how they differ from traditional domains. For example, they’re held in the user’s wallet, allow anyone to look at the records, and have more functionality when it comes to building new features and programs on your domain.
We talk about the history of blockchain domains, which goes all the way back to Bitcoin and a platform called Namecoin. We also cover what’s happening right now, like what users can do with blockchain domains before the decentralized web becomes mainstream — including send and receive cryptocurrency more easily.
We round off by talking about how to register for a blockchain domain name and what the future holds for this technology as decentralization and blockchain become more widely accepted.
