Early morning presenter on Virgin Radio – Sam Pinkham joins us on podcast episode 43!

Sam is a massive fan of Suffolk and visits every year with this family and stays in Southwold as well as various other locations around the county – and he loves going to Latitude – who doesn’t?!

Sam began his career as a salesperson – selling houses, hoovers, cars and in his words ‘He’d sell his Gran!’. Listen to Sam’s first moment when he realised he wanted to be a radio presenter – the ultimate epiphany for him. He talks about his first job as an ‘eye in the sky’ traffic reporter and his incredible sickness from flying in permanent circles!

Sam loves his current job as the early morning show presenter on Virgin Radio and talks a great deal about working with Chris Evans – again in his words ‘He’s a great cuddler’! Sam talks about his incredible experiences of working with Chris and how much he loves it, and Chris, and how he admires his incredible professionalism. We ask Sam about what happens when things go wrong live on air – he talks about filling dead air recently when the desk went down – and not knowing how long it would be out of action – for him, the panic set him, for his co-presenter Gabby Roslyn – as she said ‘I love to talk’. Sam is a passionate, fun and driven person and his enthusiasm for life is addictive – he talks more about his love of cars, boats, property and his children. Sam and his family also spend time in Woodbridge and Orford. Sam also mentions that he is looking at co-hosting a TV show in Suffolk with Chris Evans.

Sam is the brother of Natalie Pinkham, TV Presenter and Formula One pit lane reporter for Sky Sports F1. Sam talks about his close relationship with Natalie and several capers including stepping onto a huge yacht in Monaco uninvited – the party started the moment they got to the main deck!
