Ep. 182: Giving up consistency for flexibility with Chelsie Kliese
Manage episode 404781720 series 2953787
On the fourth and final interview in the maternity leave series, Chelsie Kliese, client and friend, finally joins Miranda for a candid peek behind the scenes of how she decided when to quit her full-time job to go full-time in her business, and what her first year full-time in the biz was really like.
Going full-time in your business is an often romanticized notion, but in this conversation, Chelsie shares the good, the bad, the ugly and the unexpected.
In this episode, they discuss:
- Why tracking AND analyzing your numbers is so critical
- The “how” behind deciding to go full-time in her business after just a couple of years
- The sacrifices entrepreneurs and those closest to them make, especially in the beginning
- Learning to accept that failure and mistakes are part of the process
- Pivoting when things don’t go as planned
Chelsie Kliese started House of Ivy just over three years ago as an online home decor shop. Shortly after opening, she introduced her handmade concrete goods before pivoting to a fully handmade shop about a year and a half later. She took her business full time in April of 2023 and has been learning so much along the entire adventure of being an entrepreneur! She sells her handmade goods through her online retail shop, through her wholesale program and at in-person events.
