Today's topic was triggered by a volunteer project my company participated in this morning. We all got together and volunteered at a dog rescue organization. We pulled weeds, hauled away fallen trees and moved mulch (of course we played with dogs). Pulling weeds and laying mulch for hours on end was incredibly rewarding and a challenge for me physically. I felt good. Beyond those two things, it made me aware that there are people that have to haul mulch or cut grass or haul drywall or do any other kind of manual labor every single day. Today, I was reminded that I am truly grateful to have the job I have. You can also remind yourself of the abundance in your life by working at homeless shelters or animal shelters or other places that help people get back on their feet. This isn't me bragging about volunteering or my current position in life. The point is that everyone has a lot of things going their way. It's easy to get down when things go wrong. It's hard to see the forest through the trees when you are stressed, overwhelmed or stressed. But a lot of us have way more than billions of people in this world. If you take the time to volunteer at soup kitchens or homeless shelters or animal shelters, or pick a couple side jobs hauling cement or drywall for a contractor. Working your butt off or seeing how bad some are struggling is a great way to slap yourself in the face and try to see what you have to be grateful for. The bonus is you are helping people who are in need or you are making extra cash to help your own situation. Being grateful for what you have right now allows you to one, find happiness and two, start finding your way to your next level. You can do a lot of good in your community and find more happiness and gratitude by putting yourself in situations that force you to see all the abundance that exists in your life. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jason-sullivan/support
