The idea that our microbiome plays an important role to our proper functioning as organisms has been around for several decades now, but we don’t really understand all underlying mechanisms of this relationship in its entirety. But that’s going to change soon as we start to leverage the powerful computational capabilities of artificial intelligence to help us explore this relatively untapped space. Guru Banavar finds himself at the forefront of these developments that would soon define the future of our microbiome.
