#Love the truth
John 18:37 Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.
If we love the truth, we should be able to recognize that what Jesus said is true. Ok, so what did Jesus say? He said that we are sinners and need to repent. That from birth we are prone to do what is evil and we need to be rescued from the path that leads to destruction. That we need to be born again of the spirit. That no one can come to the Father in heaven except through him. He said to love our neighbors as ourselves, to help the poor, to heal the sick. He said that marriage is between a man and a woman and that it is sacred. He said don’t judge others until you have looked at yourself first, and he also said that He is one with God, God in the flesh. He also said many other things that you can find in the Bible.
Now according to Jesus if we are incapable of accepting these statements as true, then we do not love the truth. And if we look at our world today, we can see that humanity hates the truth but is in love with pleasure, greed, power and self-indulgence.
Lord, we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness. Help us to follow Jesus and love the truth. Give us the strength to live according to your word.
