In this parable, Jesus contrasts two types of people by comparing them to builders constructing their houses.
The Wise Builder hears Jesus’ words and puts them into practice. He is like a man who builds his house on a solid foundation of rock. When storms (symbolizing life’s trials and the final judgment) come, the house remains standing because it is built on a firm foundation.
The Foolish Builder hears Jesus’ words but does not apply them. He is like a man who builds his house on sand. When the storms come, the house collapses, and its destruction is complete.
