Today, Chris and Mike, otherwise known as The Collectors will examine the phenomenon of Toxic Fandom. This part of pop culture fandom is becoming more dominant in society. It has always existed in one form or another. Siskel and Ebert would review movies with thumbs up and thumbs down. Talk around the water cooler about the previous night's tv or hockey game. Now with the internet literally at everyone's finger tips, people are putting in their two cents in regards to anything available. The Toxic Fans are the ones that are set in their ways and hold onto the past. "This isn't MY Star Wars!", "Kirk is better than Picard!" It is also a group that is often uneducated. They know their favorite character from the movie, but know nothing of their history in comics, television or other media.
Chris Ruhl and Mike Clark have been friends for the better part of 30 years. This friendship has deep roots in Pop Culture, starting in High School Art class and walking the golf course. The enjoyment of discussing movies, television and comics has been there from the start with The Collectors and their friends. Now, they bring those conversations to you and invite you to take part by sharing your love of Pop Culture with them.
