About Richard:
Richard J Brown is a community activist. An early advocate of Community Policing, Brown has served as one of the original members of the Chief’s Forum, an advisory board member for the N/E Community Court and the Oregon Police Corps., instructor with the Western Community Policing Center and Community Representative to the Department of Public Safety, Standards and Training. His community involvement also includes Albina Head Start and Albina Early Head Start, Citizens Crime Commission, the Blazers Boys and Girls Club and facilitating a weekly, County re-entry program for African American men and women on parole or probation. Brown recently published a memoir in collaboration with Brian Benson, titled "This Is Not for You: An Activist's Journey of Resistance and Resilience".
