We interview Iyabo Boyd, filmmaker/producer and co-founder of Brown Girls Doc Mafia, a collective of self-identifying women of color who are creators in the documentary space. In this episode we discuss her successful documentary film "For Akeem" in light of the Ferguson uprising, and her advice on putting your best foot forward with crowdfunding and applying for writing programs at the Sundance Film Institute.
