For as long as there have been cities there have been cults that people have flocked to for various reasons. Everything from faith, security, and friendship has driven people to do some extreme things in the same of their cults. Nuclear energy and the fear of nuclear Armageddon only added fuel to this fire. Nuclear energy saw the ranks of some cults swells and even caused the creation of more.

Listen as our hosts discuss two of these nuclear doomsday cults. Aum Shinrikyo was a cult formed in Japan in 1987 by Shoko Asahara. Responsible for two major sarin gas attack in the early 90s the cult was fearing nuclear Armageddon in 1997.
