Welcome back to the Success in South Florida Podcast! Today, our special guest on the show is Jennifer Weissman, entrepreneur and founder of the podcast Going For Greatness. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Jennifer had a strong desire to provide her children with a more diverse global experience. She and her husband made the bold decision to uproot their family and move to Tel Aviv, becoming Israeli citizens.

After spending around four and a half years in Israel, they decided to return to the United States and settled in South Florida last year. Throughout her remarkable journey, Jennifer discovered the power of resilience and the profound impact that significant events can have on shaping one's life trajectory. This experience inspired her podcast, which shares inspiring stories of perseverance, resilience, and determination in the face of adversity.
In this episode, Jennifer talks about her experience living in Israel and shares some remarkable stories of inspiring innovators who are fighting to change the world for the better. Discover the common thread of innovation and grit that fuels these individuals' pursuit of greatness and learn how embracing fear can lead to a life filled with adventure, opportunity, and personal growth. Tune in and be inspired to challenge the status quo, break boundaries, and never settle for a life lived too small.
Here’s some of what we discuss in this episode:

  • Jennifer’s decision to move her family to Tel Aviv for several years to give her children a larger, global life experience. (1:39)
  • Why Jennifer and her husband decided to stay in Tel Aviv longer than a year + making friends in Israel, the biggest challenges of living abroad, and living in Israel during COVID. (8:08)
  • Jennifer’s journey to starting an ad agency at age 29 + analyzing the downside of risk. (20:23)
  • Having a “yes” mindset + the incredible Israeli entrepreneurs that inspired Jennifer’s podcast. (31:36)
  • Jennifer’s advice for our listeners: Be afraid but do it anyway.” (45:30)

About Jennifer Weissmann

Founded an advertising agency in New York City. Married. Moved to Boulder Colorado. Had babies. Started buying Real Estate for use change. My husband and I decided to take a year away in Tel Aviv Israel so our kids could have a more global life perspective. We fell in love with Israel, its culture, and people. Got our citizenship. The people and stories of resilience intrigued me. During the Corona lockdown, I decided I needed to find some inspiration during the lockdown months. I started a podcast called Going for Greatness (formerly named Finding Inspiration) and have since recorded 32 episodes. While my bias is Israeli stories, the show has evolved into episodes around entrepreneurship. The podcast shares stories of amazing humans The Going for Greatness show shares stories of amazing humans doing amazing things -- against all odds. The world's greatest achievers were first inspired by something or someone. And that is where the show comes in. After almost 5 years there, we decided to return to America. We were tired of Winter so we arrived in Miami in August 2022. Shalom.
