Chapter 3 delves into the Alissa Turney case. Alissa Turney was a fee-spirited, precocious 17-year-old who disappeared on May 17, 2001 from Phoenix, Arizona. She left early on the last day of school and was picked up by her stepfather. According to Alissa’s stepfather, Michael, they first ate lunch together and then had an argument over Alissa wanting more freedom that summer. From all accounts, arguing was pretty common between the two. What made this argument different though, was the fact that Michael proclaimed that after this particular argument Alissa stormed off angrily to her bedroom.
