Canonization to Sainthood in August, 2025, Pier Giorgio Frassati represents a different kind of saint from the usual. He was not a priest or member of a religious order. He was a young layman whose prominent desire was to help the poor and needy in his hometown of Turin, Italy. He loved sports, loved to do pranks on his friends, was very creative both in education and his love for Latin and Dante, opera, theater and art museums. He desired to always be close to his group of friends especially in a spiritual relationship.

Tony Hendra, the author of Father Joe is best known for his lead position with the National Lampoon and his involvement with the very famous comedy movie entitled "Animal House" in the late 1970's. He moved to the theatre and was fundamental in a very successful play entitled "Lemmings" that brought to fame John Belushi and Chevy Chase. He later co-created a successful tv series in England entitled "Spitting Image". Tony's book centers also around his relationship to a Father Joe-a Catholic monk on the island of Quarr. Father Joe has been a mentor and a good friend to Tony Hendra. Tony desired early in life to join the Benedictine monks at Quarr but got sidetracked by life in the normal life of living. A short summary of what is a major transition in the interest of the Bible. Sales of the Bible are increasing-dramatically up 23% from 2023 to 2024. Overall book sales have only increased by 1% in the similar period. Interestingly, there is a 13% increase in Google searches(amazing that they would report this) in inquiries of Bible -related topics. There may be many factors for this, but experts seem to conclude in America, people are looking for time tested long range values as opposed to the contemporary view of constantly changing values. A member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Brother Andre Bessette was a Doorkeeper, Sacristan and in lowly positions in his order. Yet, he had an intense devotion to St. Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus. People flocked to him for advise and help and his concerns were with the poor and sick always. Doctors criticized him, his superiors were skeptical but Andre gave full credit to Saint Joseph. In this episode, I refer to a Bishop as referring Andre as "I am sending you a Saint".
