Jason is a husband, father, music educator, musician, designer, and amateur foodie living in the suburbs north of Austin, Texas with his wife Jackie and son Joseph. After teaching middle school band in the Houston area for 5 years, Jason relocated to Cedar Park, Texas to join the band staff at Cedar Park High School, capturing a UIL Texas State Marching Championship in 2015. In 2016, Jason accepted the position of Director of Bands for Rouse High School in Leander, Texas. Since assuming his position at Rouse, the program has been a Bands of America Regional Finalist, Regional and Super Regional Class Champion, and 5A UIL State Marching Championship Finalist. Jason was named the Phi Beta Mu Texas Young Bandmaster of the Year in 2018. He spent 8 summers teaching on the Brass Staff of the Madison Scouts from Madison, Wisconsin, serving mainly as a high brass specialist and is returning to Madison serving as the Program Coordinator for the 2020 season. He spends his non-drum corps summertime designing and coordinating marching band productions, writing marching band drills, and consulting with high school band programs around the country while also working as a leadership facilitator for the SASi leadership company based in Austin, Texas. Jason's consultation approach—no matter the medium—is to find ways to help your program improve and provide a positive experience for your students.
