When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Learn more at www.lbi.org/kollisch . Exile is a production of the Leo Baeck Institute , New York | Berlin and Antica Productions . It’s narrated by Mandy Patinkin. Executive Producers include Katrina Onstad, Stuart Coxe, and Bernie Blum. Senior Producer is Debbie Pacheco. Associate Producers are Hailey Choi and Emily Morantz. Research and translation by Isabella Kempf. Sound design and audio mix by Philip Wilson, with help from Cameron McIver. Theme music by Oliver Wickham. Voice acting by Natalia Bushnik. Special thanks to the Kollisch family for the use of Eva’s two memoirs, “Girl in Movement” and “The Ground Under My Feet”, the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College and their “Voices of Feminism Oral History Project”, and Soundtrack New York.…

×Tate is a top real estate agent—but his social media? A total ghost town. 👻 Like many professionals, he dreads marketing himself. Here’s the thing: 58% of people expect professionals like real estate agents to have a strong personal brand. Why? Because trust sells. A personal brand isn’t a vanity project—it’s a value pursuit. It’s not about what can I get? It’s about what can I give? Instead of spending hours creating content, Tate discovered modern tools that help him create, repurpose, and distribute content in minutes—freeing up more time to do what he does best: helping clients. 🚀 The question is: What will YOU do with the time you save? 📌 Want a free guide on how to create content like a pro? DM me the word PRO on Instagram at @RealGump365, and I’ll send it your way. 🎙️ Next on Simplify: Your personal brand isn’t just about you—it’s about who you bring with you.…

Ever stared at your phone for 20 minutes trying to post something—only to decide meh, it’s not perfect and scrap it altogether? Yeah. That stops today. This episode of Simplify is all about getting out of your own way when it comes to content creation. Because spoiler alert: Some is better than none, and done is better than perfect. Meet Your New Content Role Models: 🍬 Emma, the candy shop owner who went from “posting whenever I remember” to batching her content and never scrambling for ideas again. 📸 Jake, the wedding photographer who realized “Hey everyone!” is the worst way to start a caption and switched to speaking directly to his dream clients (which, surprise, actually got them to book!). 🌮 Sofia, the Mexican restaurant owner who let go of the “everything must be Instagram-perfect” mindset and posted a simple, unfiltered guacamole video… and guess what? It crushed. 🎙️ Next up on Simplify : Why your personal brand’s online presence matters more than ever (and how to make it work for you —no marketing degree required). So, stop overthinking, start posting, and remember: The market belongs to those who market. 🚀…
Listen, we need to talk. No one is scrolling through Instagram thinking, Wow, what an incredible, deeply personal connection I feel to this logo! That’s just not how it works. People connect with people, not perfectly curated business profiles. So, do people actually care what you ate for lunch? No—unless you make it matter to them. Here’s What You’ll Learn in This Episode: Meet Olivia, the boutique owner who thought she should only post about clothes—until she realized people followed her because they liked her just as much as her fashion picks. James, the coffee shop owner swore no one cared about behind-the-scenes posts… until a video of him training a new barista went viral. Turns out, people love seeing the passion behind the product. Why you trust your doctor, your favorite teacher, or even your local mechanic more than most businesses online—and how to apply that trust-building magic to your brand. 🚨 Next up on Simplify: The three biggest mistakes business owners make with content—and how to fix them without losing your sanity. Until then, keep posting, keep showing up, and remember: the market belongs to those who market.…
You’re running a business. You’re answering emails, making sales, managing customers, and trying to remember if you actually ate lunch today. And on top of all that , you’re supposed to be a marketing expert too? Yeah, I get it. That’s why Simplify exists—to cut through the noise and make marketing make sense for busy business owners like you. No fluff, no jargon, just straight-up practical advice and ideas you can do a little at a time - hence why these episodes are short. This Episode? We’re Talking Tracking. Because if it matters, you have to measure it . You wouldn’t try to lose weight without stepping on a scale, and you wouldn’t play darts with your eyes closed (unless you really don’t like your walls). So why are you running your business without tracking what’s actually working? Meet Randy. Gym owner. Loves fitness. Not great at numbers. But once he started tracking who actually signed up for his free trial classes, he found out his morning sessions were gold, while his evening classes… not so much. Fun fact: 46% of Gen Z uses Instagram for search instead of Google. If your business isn’t optimized there, you might as well be invisible. Another fun fact: Consumers are 76% more likely to buy from a brand they feel personally connected to—so if you think your audience loves your content but aren’t tracking engagement, how do you really know? The point? You don’t need a marketing degree. You just need to track what actually moves the needle. I’ll share with you how to start small, stay consistent, and make decisions based on facts—not feelings. 📌 Next episode: How to tell your brand’s story in a way that actually connects with your audience (instead of just adding to the noise). Until then—keep it simple, stay curious, and remember: If it matters, measure it.…
