A message from Tanya:

Today it's all about me rolling back the curtain of memories and saying Thank You as it is said a heart that is Faithful, Grateful and Thankful is a heart that is blessed beyond measures.

Today I am blessed and proud to say that I have dedicated 240 months, 1,040 weeks, 7,300 days, 175,300 hours, 10,520, 640 minutes to the last of the true exotics " Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort"

20 years ago I was hired to fill a vacant position at this establishment and today I count it a privilege to recognize this as a milestone which took me on a journey of self evaluation, empowering, motivating, inspiring, growing, experiences and embracing myself for such a journey in my career. Within the past 20 years I was given the opportunities 8 different positions which I have worked my way up to where I am today. The following positions were:-

Secretary for Food and Beverage (start)

Administrative Assistant Sales and Weddings

Executive Administrative Assistant - General Managers

Banquet Coordinator- Sales and Weddings

Senior Sales Executive- Sales Office

Senior Sales Manager- Sales Office

Resort Sales Manager- Sales Office

Director of Sales, Groups and Conventions (current)

In between holding down all the above positions, I also took all the opportunities that was presented to me of upgrading myself educationally and got some extensive on the job training and did some courses with Sandals University and obtained the following.

Associates Degree in Hospitality &Tourism

Certified Train the Trainer

Certified Customer Service Management

Associates Degree in Business Studies

Professional Diploma in Leadership

Professional Bachelor Degree in Hospitality and Tourism

Professional Masters Degree in Hospitality and Tourism

I have also completed other certificate courses with the LMS program through our Learning and Development department as well.

Not only did I soar in holding down positions and educating myself. I was also recognized for all my hard work over the years and have been honored to receive the following Awards.

Through all of the above it didn't just come easy or was it handed to me on a silver platter, my hard work, perseverance, loyalty and dedication spoke volumes on my job daily. Just like any other individual I had struggles, challenges, obstacles, was hurt and let down by people who I taught had my back but I can say today I overcome so much and all that the devil placed in my path and even today he is still challenging me but I know that God had me through it all and still got me today.

Thanking persons and calling names is always a problem of getting in trouble cause someone would be left out but saying Thanks to certain individuals is nothing short of me being overwhelmed with gratitude for all that has been done for me and with me which has gotten me to where I am today.

Thanks to;-

My Lord and Savior for always being at the forefront of my life, at the back of my struggles and the side of my storms, thankful for his Faithfulness and Love.

My Employer Sandals Resorts International (SRI) and Beaches Turks and Caicos (BTC) for the vast experience in many areas but not limited to growth, opportunities, learning,integrity, leadership, support,training and education both personally and professionally.

My entire Beaches Turks resort family, management both past and present, all other departments with special recognition to my Sales Department both past and present employees. You all have been my support system,both in challenges as well as success while soaring for excellence in everything that I have done for the past 20 years, Thank you, Thank You, Thank you.

Thank you to all the Travel Advisors and their partnership to the brand but with special support to Beaches Turks where am located, your unwavering support and encouragement over the years has been greatly received and appreciated. Thank you to all my overseas Colleagues at UVI, BDMS, Directors, etc.

Last but by all means least, Thank you to my family and friends for all their Love and support for the past 20 years, thanks for being understanding,encouraging,motivating and for all the love each of you gave and continue to give to me daily. An EXTRA EXTRA SPECIAL THANK YOU to my daughter Genika, you are indeed the best thing that has ever happened to me, you are indeed a beautiful soul with a big heart of Gold, you have been my biggest Supporter of understanding and cheering me on and not for your own personal goals only but for your Mummy to always succeed in everything she does and deserves and this speaks volumes for your unwavering love and support for and to me and am forever grateful for a precious daughter like you, so Thank you.

Every day on my journey for the past 20 years has been a learning experience for me both personally and professionally which as allow me to make choices that effected me in my past, my present and moving on to my future. I always believe that Excellence comes from within an individual who is willing to work hard to achieve their goals, be recognized and receive all that is deserving of them for all their hard work. I always believe once an opportunity is given, take it and just simply make the best of it.

Lord my prayer is into thy hands I put my next Chapter both personally and professionally.
