Getting a Master's in Book Publishing from NYU (with author and podcaster Zara Hoffman)!
Manage episode 327650729 series 3317369
"I want to be an agent. I want to be making money for my clients!"
In this week's episode, we're chatting with self-published author, podcaster, streamer, theatre geek, and soon-to-be NYU Master's graduate, Zara Hoffman. At the time of recording, Zara had also been interning at an agency, and we spoke at length about her desire to be an agent in the near future, and the importance of fostering agent-client relationships.
Needless to say, Zara is juggling a lot. One of the main points we discuss is how it's impossible to do it all every single day. There's a lot of time management and responsibility juggling, but when it's things you're passionate about, Zara believes it makes it all worth it.
I really loved getting to hear Zara's perspective as she straddles the line between self-publishing her own novels and working for an agent and getting her Master's in the tradpub sector. It's a really cool glimpse into the publishing world that not a lot of people get to see from so many angles! So I hope you enjoy hearing from her as much as I did. :)
