Hello Wise Women! Today, I’m bringing you a special conversation I had with my friend Steve Heatherington. This conversation has stayed with me, touching on something I've been thinking about a lot lately—growing old with curiosity, dignity, and wonder. I don’t want the privilege of aging to be weighed down by shame or resignation. And that brings me to my guest today, Steve. Curiosity about how things work is a hallmark of Steve’s life and work. He helps people with something to say and find their voice by using it through learning to podcast. Starting as a student, he now teaches The Podcasting Workshop and is also a Production Partner helping podcasters with their problems and projects. He lives in a small valley in South Wales where he is an alpaca shepherd to a herd of over 30 alpacas. They continuously teach him new things about slowing down and staying curious. They are also the subject of his own podcast - Alpaca Tribe . Steve defies the narrative we’re often told to fade into the background as we get older. Instead, he practices curiosity like a muscle, learning new things every day. I think you’ll find his story just as inspiring as I did. 🎙️ Original Podcast Music by Nadine Kelly (drums and vocals) and Tim Buell; Produced by Tim Buell ☕️ Sponsored by Infusco Coffee Roasters.…

Welcome to a new year of Health Raisers! This year, we're starting with social health, exploring how contributing to our community enhances the well-being of all. For the first time, I'm bringing on a guest to address our role as stewards of the planet, and I couldn't think of a more fitting person for this essential topic than Tania Marien . Tania and I first connected as podcasters and coaches in the Podcast Fellowship led by Seth Godin and Alex DiPalma . Tania is a reporter at heart. Speaking with people, doing research, and celebrating others' good work makes her happy. She produces a podcast where she hosts conversations with freelance environmental professionals who have taken creative approaches to science communication, nature awareness, and public outreach. Tania is currently exploring the viability of a new publication aimed at helping environmental educators and others transition into environmentally-minded roles in other sectors. Tania has had the opportunity to contribute to many community-focused events and projects over the years. Recent projects include The Carbon Almanac and The Carbon Almanac Podcast Network and the open-access book Storytelling to Accelerate Climate Solutions . Hello, Health Raisers! I’m so glad to have you here as we wrap up this year together. In this episode, I want to share some actionable, meaningful takeaways from our incredible guests on the podcast. Think of this episode as a warm reminder to pause, reflect, and let what we’ve learned guide us. For each dimension of health—social, emotional, mental, physical, intellectual, and spiritual—we explore three small ways to turn these insights into steps forward, one day at a time. When we talk about Social Health , it’s all about how we show up for others and give ourselves permission to ask for help. In Emotional Health , we learned the value of feeling our feelings and giving ourselves grace. For Mental Health we learn to ground ourselves in ordinary moments—like pausing at a stoplight or listening to the sound of a coffee pour. Let’s not forget Physical Health , where listening to our bodies and adjusting with compassion can make all the difference, especially as we mature. With Intellectual Health , we find curiosity over comparison, encouraging ourselves to keep learning and growing. And finally, in Spiritual Health , we connect to something greater than ourselves, something that gives us hope. I’m so grateful for every guest, every conversation, and for each of you. Whether you’re here for a nudge, a moment of reflection, or a reminder that you’re never alone on this journey, thank you. I hope these takeaways bring you a sense of peace, purpose, and motivation. Here’s to embracing our health, one mindful step at a time. Thank you for being here, for raising your health with me this year, and for showing up for yourself in ways that truly matter. Here’s to another year of growth, community, and transformation. 🎙️ Original Podcast Music by Nadine Kelly (drums and vocals) and Tim Buell; Produced by Tim Buell ☕️ Sponsored by Infusco Coffee Roasters.…
