When it comes to live tweeting or social media commentary, should it be understood that people crank up the insults and nastiness to be part of the conversation? Do we just "get it" that that's why people watch shows like The Bachelorette or Big Brother and live tweet their thoughts? Jeremy Bradley shares a story about a woman who DM'ed him, taking offense to his tweet and majorly overreacting. Her concern was that it was "hurtful" and "inappropriate" to gay people. So, gay JB carried on the conversation with the straight mom who was telling him what is and isn't harmful to the gay community. JB turned the tables and challenged that her opinion is implying gays are emotionally unstable and weak -- so, was the mom being indirectly homophobic? Moreover, did she need to know JB's sexuality before making such an accusation? Is it OK for him to comment because he's gay or should anyone be able to make any comment about anyone no matter who they are?
