Front man, James Priestner, of indie punk alternative band, Rare Americans, joins us on this episode of The Adamantium Podcast. We discuss their 2023 JUNO Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year, the band’s roots, how the animation element was introduced into their music, the process to making one of their animated videos, and their vision for future live performances. We also talk about the characters and significance of Alfred the horse and Brittle Bones Nicky, as well as their ambitious upcoming project, a 30-minute fully animated musical film called “Searching for Strawberries: The Story of Jongo Bongo.”
