On today’s show, Super Bowl LVIII is in the books, along with another NFL season, and we all suddenly have a lot more free time on Sundays. The Big Game started slow but ended with a performance by Patrick Mahomes worthy of the Vegas stage they were on. Mahomes was every bit the smart gambler; he folded a few hands, stuck with his system and in the end, hit the jackpot late in overtime, but as many people seem to want to blame the Niners for the loss as give the Chiefs credit for the win. We’ll play the blame game with the Niners like fans are doing all over the Bay Area, but what I take away from this one is that they just ran up against history and legacy in Mahomes. Plus, our Warriors are back to .500 and hope remains alive at the Chase Center, but with 30 games left to play, is the upside enough to promise the deep postseason run we all want to see? Steph is on a heater, Draymond is on his best behavior, the rookie Pods is precocious, Kuminga has made the leap, GP2 is back and basketball is fun again, and it’s past time to deep dive into some Bay Area hoops as we head into the All-Star break.
