KEY MOMENTS
- Technology has made recruiters lazy and caused them to rely too heavily on job boards and technology for candidate sourcing.
- Recruiters need to balance using technology as a tool and maintaining the human element of recruiting.
- The fundamentals of a great recruiter include building relationships, effective communication, curiosity, and a focus on delivering what candidates and clients want.
- Recruiters should plan their work and work their plan, setting goals and metrics to track their progress.
- The hunt and target recruiting are still essential skills for recruiters.
- Technology can be used to automate administrative tasks and enhance communication, but the human touch is still crucial in engaging with candidates.
- Recruiters should be authentic and focus on building relationships rather than just making transactions.
- Planning, time management, and self-discipline are key to success in recruiting.
