WARNING: adult content ahead,

- Mystique developed adult Atari games: Beat 'Em & Eat 'Em, Bachelor Party and Custer's Revenge - NES adult games: bubble bath babes, hot slots and peek-a-boo poker - Night Trap for Sega CD - No adult games for Genesis/SNES/N64? - 19 Years Ago (November 29, 2002) GameCube BMX XXX - “The Guy Game” story - Leasure Suit Larry - Playboy: The Mansion - The Witcher, GTA, etc...

Community submissions: what was the first experience you remember in a video game where you had a feeling of "...should I be watching this?" or "I hope mom doesn't walk in right now 👀 "

Flightsy This one is kinda tough to answer. I’m not sure I’ve ever played a game that was “mature” in that way, and nowadays I’m too old to be shocked by it if I did. I remember Mom thought Super Smash Bros Brawl was distastefully violent, but I remember thinking she was being ridiculous, especially compared to what else was out there.

Also SMG4 on youtube

Oops I had that moment when I was in college. I came home for Christmas vacation already 60+ hours into persona 3 and never really noticed anything until my mom came into talk to me and was like are they shooting themselves in the head. It never crossed my mind until that moment. BintendoMan89 I don’t have memory of feeling like I shouldn’t play or see something in gaming. My parents were surprisingly open about games and let me play a lot of things. My dad had a decent NES and Genesis collection growing up. I was born in 90 and had access to Mortal Kombat 3 on genesis, and Cliff Hanger, played them heavy and the violence or blood was never an issue. The first time I remember it being and issue for my family was the South Park game on N64, my mom wouldn’t let me rent it. But when I did play it at a friends I didn’t feel like I shouldn’t be.

Solo_something My first experience of seeing true violence I felt was playing Mortal Kombat when it first came out. It was not my thing so went back to Street Fighter. Can’t recall skimpily dressed ladies; just know it was later. It was not shocking as already had the kid experience of finding my dad’s Playboy mag with Madonna in it when I was a youngster in the 80’s, lol. Most of my “parented” video game years were Atari and NES so by material alone it was a sheltered time in video games.

hambone jonny Mortal Kombat is a great call out. I agree. My parents let me rent it, but weren’t all to happy about it when they saw it on the tv. I’d say another would be Wrestemania 2000. With the female wrestlers, def had a few moments where is was like, “hope mom doesn’t walk in!!”

Llaffer I don't remember having that feeling when I was at home, but the first game I remember playing as an adult with young kids that I thought that I should only play this when they are in bed was Dante's Inferno (PS3).

ChrisHL94 As a teenager I had a PC copy of a Leisure Suit Larry game that I was worried my parent would walk in on me playing.

Eric Plunk I never had that moment growing up. Mortal Kombat II was probably the only M rated game I had growing up. Fatalities were such a pain to pull of that there wasn’t much danger of my parents seeing anything risqué. It was more of a challenge in the PS3/Xbox era to play M rated games around my daughter’s sleep/school schedule.

ElPeeDee (Liam D my grandma saw me playing Duke Nukem 3D on my family's PC and told my mom I was looking at porn

Adr0ck I never ended up playing it but every time I went to Outback Video I would always sneak a peek at “Bubble Bath Babes” for the NES.

SpiderShan Mortal Kombat just because my parents told me they wouldn’t approve even though I hadn’t asked. Of course my friend and I then had to try it. We were already 13 when it came out so we had already seen worse in R rated movies he got his older sister to rent us. My buddy got really into it and could do all the fatalities but I wasn’t that good at it. Even though I couldn’t have the game, we did somehow end up with Killer Instinct (still don’t recall how we got it) and I always made sure to look around to see if someone was watching when doing Orchid’s move where she flashes her opponent. You didn’t see anything but it was very obvious what she was doing.
