King Stephen is crowned but soon his new found friends will turn into rebels - all with their own reasons for turning towards King Stephen's cousin, Matilda, and declaring their support for her right to the crown - a crown promised her by her late father, King Henry - but a crown King Stephen, through speed and promises, managed to secure for himself in the unsettled days following the old king's death.
Years pass - but in 1141, Matilda and Stephen's men at arms face each other for the first time. Battle is joined, the fight for the crown begins!
