Welcome to episode zero of The Quest for 1cc podcast! While the days of shmups ruling the arcade and having a strong presence on consoles may be over, the genre hasn’t completely faded away. New shmups with unique ideas, innovative mechanics, and stunning visuals are still being released, providing players with new experiences and the fast paced, blood pumping, action we crave.
Here at the Quest for 1cc podcast we will discuss new shmups, old shmups, and even some shmup adjacent games with designers, publishers, and members of the community. We’ll gain insight into where they pulled their inspiration from, what the process of creating was like, and maybe even get a few hints to help us on our quest for 1cc.
Join me as I explore the shoot ‘em up genre and ask the question, can I beat it in just one credit. Spoiler-alert, I don’t have any yet, but with your help and a lot of determination I hope to change that, and I am hoping you will join me on my quest.
