Have you ever been invited to a really important dinner? Maybe it's an important occasion or maybe the person who is inviting you is really important to you. An invitation to dinner signifies a relationship between the person inviting and the one who is invited. Did you know that God has invited us to dinner? Throughout Scripture we see significant moments when God shares a meal with his people! Then, just before Jesus gives his life for us on the cross, he tells his disciples, and all who come after them, to share a meal in remembrance of Jesus. Communion, or the Lord's Supper, is a meal prepared by God, to be shared in God's presence in celebration and remembrance of God's saving work through Jesus Christ. This sermon called "Come to the Table" takes look at communion in Scripture.
