With over two decades of experience in the game, DJ Spinna has carved a lane for himself in the music industry allowing him to pursue all his musical passions both onstage and in the studio. As a producer, he’s worked with everyone from Eminem to Mary J. Blige and has over 1000 remixes for artists like Michael Jackson, Roy Ayres and Donald Byrd. On stage, he’s DJ’ed all over the world alongside peers Giles Peterson and ?uestlove and and founded the institutional Soul Slam and WONDER-full tribute parties. In this interview, DJ Spinna talks about his role bridging the music generational gap and championing overlooked artists, growing up in 80s NYC and how that shaped his musical sensibilities and how he connected with the gawd…Stevie Wonder.
