Richard Nixon's 2nd Inaugural Address - 01/20/1973
Manage episode 339210500 series 3388545
Richard M. Nixon delivered his second inaugural address on January 20th, 1973. His term would be short just a little over one-and-a-half years into his second term, Nixon would resign as president and be replaced by his vice president, Gerald Ford. Ford would pardon Nixon, leading to an uproar – a move that likely doomed his chances at his own term, not defined by Nixon & Watergate. Nixon lived for another 20 years, during which his reputation rehabilitated a bit – though the stain of Watergate is unlikely to wash off.
