On this biweekly episode, the recording session was done “live” because we were outside of Radici Market, an Italian Deli/Café located at 303 7th St SE, Washington, DC 20003. It is a Italian Grocery Store with an incredible staff. If you happened to be in the Washington DC Area, visit the Capitol Hill neighborhood and have a coffee on Radici Market. Having said that, my guest on this episode is a great singer, you should listen to him singing and playing live his arrangement on The Boxer by Simon Garfunkel, John T. Lyon. With John, we walked thru memory lane of what Washingto DC music venues as like, his time with The Undertakers and other local bands from Massachusetts, his time in Spain and his story on a wooden platform that will cruise Spain shores to avoid Franco’s secret police, and much more. We threw names on this episode, Dali, Picasso, Gala, Frank Zappa, etc. BTW, this is a correction of two dates I mentioned on this recording. Poland was invaded by Hitler on 1939, no 1936 and Dali’s The Enigma of Hitler was painted in 1938. The other Dali’s fact incorrect is the name of his famous painting Faces of War and not Fruits of War. Anyhow, I will correct it as well on my next Spanish episode.
