"Welcome to the Montauk Surf Report, I'm your surf reporter for October 4th, 2023.
Well folks, it's looking pretty good out there today! We've got some nice waves rolling in from the east, with wave faces ranging from waist high to shoulder high. The wind is blowing lightly out of the northwest, so we're getting some great glassy conditions.
The tide is currently rising, and it's going to keep doing that throughout the morning, so if you're planning on hitting the beach, make sure you get there soon before the tide gets too high. But don't worry, even as the tide comes up, the waves are still gonna be plenty fun.
I'm talking mostly rights today, but there are some lefts mixed in too. So whether you're a regular or goofy footer, there's something for everyone. And with the sun shining bright and warm, it's a perfect day to be out in the water.
Now, I know some of you might be thinking, "But what about the crowds?" Don't worry, it's not too bad out there yet. You might have to share a few waves, but nothing too crazy. Just remember, respect your fellow surfers and we'll all have a good time.
