My husband Bob and I reflect on our unforgettable adventures on Sao Jorge, one of the islands in the Azores archipelago of Portugal. We share a humorous recount of our initial struggle navigating steep and narrow roads with a nine-passenger van, and our eventual relief at hiring a local driver. Our episode is highlighted by the heartwarming hospitality of the locals who we believe were the friendliest among all the islands we visited. We marveled at the island's unique geography and breathtaking beauty, especially the cliffs and waterfalls. One of our most memorable experiences was unexpectedly being invited to a local event where we filmed the preparation of the Holy Ghost soup, a traditional Azorean dish we'd been longing to cover. The episode is sprinkled with entertaining anecdotes and reflections, making our visit to Sao Jorge a truly unforgettable one.
