When it comes to the formal practice of the Christian religion, a question that has puzzled me, centers around whether the Christian religion has been used to colonize, oppress, or extract land and resources from peoples around the world. Colonization, genocide, and oppression seems to have been fueled by religious men throughout history, according to some scholars. Currently do you think the Christian religion is being used to stagnate people from realizing an abundant existence, why are so many poor? Does religion fuel greed?
Simply, why were American slaves conditioned to be faithful waiting to experience glory in heaven as they suffered here on Earth? Would God continue to allow people to suffer in poverty or lack of opportunity their entire lives or has man created scenarios that limit people and fueled suffering by not sharing the abundance of our earth? Where are my Christians who understand history and have a position on this issue? Lastly, could we live in a world that shared more, opposed to competing for control of resources? Let me know what you think. Keep your hearts, spirits, and minds intact, I love you.
