The Sox have lost 4 in a row for the 7th time this season and for the 4th time since the All-Star break. The Sox will look to avoid losing a 5th straight game for the 1st time this season and also avoid the series sweep with the finale Wednesday night.

Kutter's Night on the Hill: Kutter Crawford retired the 1st 7 hitters that he faced before allowing a 1-out walk to Jeff McNeil in the 3rd Inning. Crawford picked up his 6th strike out of the night for the 2nd out in the 3rd and then gave up a 2-run Home Run to Francisco Lindor to give the Mes a 2-0 lead. Crawford finished up his night with a 1-2-3 6th Inning. He ended up with the loss to fall to 8-13. Red Sox are now 9-20 in Crawford's 29 starts.

After Crawford's Exit: Justin Slaten was the 1st reliever out of the pen and he promptly gave up a solo Home Run to Mark Vientos to make a 3-1 deficit for the Sox in the 7th Inning. It was just the 3rd Home Run allowed on the season for Slaten. Chris Martin gave up 4 runs in the 8th inning that gave the Mets a 5-run cushion. Francisco Lindor knocked in a run with a Double and Pete Alonso capped the inning with a 2-run Home Run.

On the Board: The Red Sox were shut down over the 1st 4 Innings by Mets starter David Peterson, who celebrated his 29th Birthday on Tuesday. The Sox put together 3 singles in the 5th Inning and brought in their 1st run of the game on an RBI Single from Nick Sogard. Jarren Duran ended up leading 2 runners stranded by striking out to end the 5th. Sox got a run in the 8th to make it a 1-run game. The rally ended with Masa Yoshida hitting into an inning-ending groundball Double Play.
