The Miami Hurricanes have just FLIPPED defensive tackle Donta Simpson from his commitment to the Maryland Terrapins. Simpson verbally commits to The U after receiving an offer over the weekend. He grew up a Miami fan and didn’t waste more than five days before offering his verbal pledge. Simpson is a twitchy, explosive playmaker from the interior defensive line. He recorded 19.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks last season as a high school junior at Chaminade-Madonna. He even had a pick six last year.

The Hurricanes have jumped a spot ahead of Oklahoma for the 9th rated class according to 247 Sports. Simpson is Miami’s first defensive tackle commit of the cycle.
