This week, is it possible that we have gotten the wrong idea about God’s prerogatives based upon actual right understandings of His mercy? Saul sacrifices to God before a battle because the prophet Samuel was running late and ends up losing his throne because of it. Later, a dude tries to keep God’s Ark of the Covenant from tipping over and dies for his trouble. Is God overreacting here? Or is there something else to consider and does it still apply to us today?
